First MightyMug D.I.Y.

Finished another custom this weekend. I decided to try out a Hasbro DIY the MightyMug - http://www.hasbro.com/mightymuggs/ - At first I kept thinking that the form was annoying compared to the fun KidRobot figures but in the end it turned out pretty fun.

"Urban Decay" an old design redone

Now available for purchase - BUY HERE

This weekend I decide to create a last minute submission to a website called www.thetshirtvault.com Lately the t-shirt "internets" have been a-buzz about this site, that on first glance, almost seems like a scam with the large cash prize, and almost lack of info. They intend to print using the DTG method: meaning that all designs will be printed in full color.

Thanks to the intended method of printing, I decided it would be a good time to finally rework a design to its intended manifestation that I couldn't achieve with traditional screen methods. If thetshirtvault prints anything like www.fullmetaltshirt.com (check them out, they do a great job printing) expect to get a soft clean print with a very slight stiffness to the shirt.

Now available for purchase - BUY HERE
(it should be available in 5 dif colors)

the Great Jellyzilla is finished!

Finally finished the 30x40 painting that was occupying all the living room floor. It was a ton of fun to paint and use great Golden brand mediums and paints, as well as Montana brand spray paints, and Posca markers.

Here is "JellyZilla visits the Windy City!"
Check the facebook fan page soon for a slideshow of the painting of Jellyzilla.

#91 Sayoka and the Serpent

Slowly but surely on the way to #100, I am sticking to the idea of quality rather than a lot of quick simple characters. Again, there was a bit of editing on this one, I didn't have such a steady hand lately with my trusty Staedler fineliner markers....to many times falling asleep mid-line;)
It may not look very similar but this was partially inspired by watching Avatar, the slimely serpent and parts of the character.

Painting the weekend away

Finally nearing completion of the large Jellyzilla painting, it's about 90 percent finished.
Don't mind the bottom left corner, the helicopter is not painted yet.
I had a lot of fun making use of different glazes from the Golden brand, and stepping out into the freezing Chicago weather to use my Montana spray paints for some orange glow from the fire. I'll be posting some full shots when the painting is complete, thanks for looking:)
