#54 - Mickey's cousin

Back to basics. I need time at home after work to be used for something aside from finishing the daily character, so now I present the first in a line of hopefully simpler yet still fun characters.

ok, so not my favorite, but this poor hamster lost a fight with his cousin Mickey...so give him a break.

Hey hey, I don't get paid for this, I can have fun on a Friday or sleep on a bus instead of course if say...do you want to pay me, well, I will get every single post done right on time! any takers??

This fire salamander is a reflection of our weather in Chicago lately, something set the sky on fire, and I enjoy it:)

#50 - Kumo!

number 50 is the baddest spider you've had the pleasure of finding in your shoe, ever wonder why it hurts so much when they bite?
-YES! I I have arrived at number 50. Of course along the way I ran across problems sticking to the schedule. I am halfway to my intended target, I at least need to get to 100 before I switch gears and try something else. One issue I am having, which is evident in this post, is that I started getting too complex to where I cannot get the character done within the bus ride. I need to once again simplify and think about the character more than the details and get it done in the "allowed" time.

#49 - Ze Space Weazel

Wow, what an interesting 2 weeks it has been. At least this time I have a good excuse for not posting with my proposed schedule of every bus ride to work. This is due to the fact that I have not been on a bus, I was taking a vacation in bed with the good old H1N1 virus, everything was put on hold for a while. I am not finally mostly recovered and back to life.
For my first post - alive again - is "Ze Space Weazel" he is truly an important part of the programme spatial français.

Jellyzilla painting complete

Yesterday, my lovely wife and I sat up and did some painting. I decided to work on number 2 of my series that I am calling "canvas buddies" on thick 4x4 canvas. I hope to add to the collection as time goes on. I don't very often get the chance to paint as much anymore so this was fun.

#47 - Camo-Kevin

Just came back from the great fun of the Summer smARTshow in the Flatiron Arts Building in Chicago's Bucktown/Wicker park. Loads of fun artists to look at and keep me inspired to at least keep doing something.

Today's "ink" is a snake trying to disguise himself as something friendly......I should have drawn in some regular looking ballons floating by to get the idea across better...oh well.

#46 - RickyRaccoon

On my way back from work today pulling out my pens and sketchbook I began to ponder about Raccoons. If they were in the mob it wouldn't be clean cut and civilized, it would be down and dirty, no need to dress up.

#44 - Ghost of Bomani

I'm not sure where the Egyptian theme came from today but here it is. In retrospect I wish I had left the headdress off and done a normal dog's head. I guess that can be the beauty of using pens that the first thing that oozes into my brain is what I am left with.

BTW according to the "internets" Bomani is an Egyptian name for "warrior"

My first hat

My thanks go out to the guys at Ink-Hound for deciding to pick up and print my hat design. It's not quite what I mocked up, and though I am slightly disappointed I know they have to work with the constrains of their printing methods....so kudos for the great job they did do.

#43 - ChicagoSky

Yes, that's right, this is called Chicago sky because all that is on my mind lately and everyone else here is "how can it be June and so cold and wet. I get on the bus and every person I walk by says the same thing "can you believe it, It's already June and if feels like March," I sure hope summer starts soon...
